EnquireThis is a system of slow exercises to enhance strength of the core – the deep muscles of the abdomen and back. These muscles are essential for supporting the lower back, upper back and neck.
These muscles are often found to be weak in individuals with a history of low back pain, as well as after pregnancy and in those who work in an office, and who often have neck and shoulder pain due to poor posture.
Pilates can also contribute to a relatively pain free pregnancy and labour.
We offer Pilates here in our Clinic, either 1:1 or 2:1 if you wish to share the session and the cost with a friend/relative.
Whatever your level of fitness and whatever your goal, we can help. We offer 1-to-1 training as well as creating programmes that you can carry out at home or at the gym, as well as periodic reviews to ensure you are getting the most out of your exercise programme and making progress.
From Pilates (beginners to advanced level) to exercises with weights or kettlebells, we will tailor your programme to your precise needs and requirements.
Acupuncture is provided by Stephen, who trained in Western Medical Acupuncture with the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS). We use very fine needles to treat pain. It can be very effective for muscle or joint pain, anywhere in the body.
This may be used in your first few sessions after an injury when pain is severe, or it can be used later on if progress has plateaued. Once we have reduced your pain, then we can use other physiotherapy techniques to further improve your movement and strength.
